Inspiration:
I was inspired by the geography of Cairo, Egypt, which is west of the Nile River. I wanted to combine both the more common perceptions of Cairo, hieroglyphs, and engravements with the river concept to create a fresh and unique look for my overall look. Each will then translate to its corresponding touchpoints. With this vision in mind, my goal was to unite the forms seamlessly by creating spaces by the flowing river “river”. The typeface design was intended to echo the essence of hieroglyphs while drawing inspiration from maps and the distinctive geographical features of the region.
